i tried making french macarons once and horrible failed. one of my worst baking adventures ever! anyone have any tips? i want to master them. wondering if this bakng mat will help? i try to not buy too many kitchen gadgets, just the basics. but would this be worth it?

I started making macarons last year and for some reason I've had the best luck. My tips...... separate eggs 48 hours before baking day, don't add your granulated sugar until the egg whites are frothy, add food coloring to egg whites before whipping and don't get discouraged if your first recipe doesn't work. My first recipe was awful, but I tried one from the whisk kid site and it has worked perfect every time.
