on saturday i was at metropolitan market for a few things and in my post-juice ritual mindstate everything was looking so good. i ended up leaving with two bags full went i went in for only two items. isn't that how it always works? i spotted some white bean hummus and thought homemade pita chips would be perfect accompaniment.
i followed the barefoot contessa's recipe
1 package pita bread
kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
cut each pita bread in quarters and each quarter in half to make 8 triangles. place them in a single layer on a sheet pan and sprinkle lightly with olive oil, salt and pepper. Bake for about 10 minutes, until crisp, turning once.
serve with your favorite hummus dip. my new favorite hummus dip is the tuscan white bean with roasted pine nuts and herbs from eat well enjoy life. it caught my eye at metropolitan market this weekend.
the perfect snack! yum!
